Description: Timanous, located on a beautiful lake in southern Maine, was founded in 1917 by Dr. Luther Gulick. The Suitor family has directed the camp since 1942, the present generation since 1982. 93% of the 50 counseling staff are former campers, averaging over 10 years at Timanous. 25 states and 6 foreign countries were represented in 2008. A positive approach to discipline and freedom within structure promise improved skills in physical activities and poise and understanding in social relationships.
