Excerpt from Radio Show - Finding The Right Summer Camp

by KYW's Robin Culverwell

Searching for summer camps for the little people in your house? It can be tricky but there are resources out there to help.

Word of mouth is always good, but let's say your son wants to go to wrestling camp and his buddy prefers baseball camp. Where can you turn? You can try kidscamps-dot-com, a yellow pages type listing of some 24-thousand camps here in the US and overseas. Nancy Diamond is a co-founder of the web site and cautions her directory cannot replace good old-fashioned common sense:

"Parents should check out the camp themselves, and meet the camp owner and have questions answered such as "Do you do background checks on your staff?"

Often there are direct links so you can then check out the camp's website and contact staff directly with other questions.
