Other art camp doesn't make use of typical or generic media like oil, watercolor, pencil or charcoal. Instead, the use of unique materials like coffee, sand, ice, beads, rocks and any other tangible materials that can be created into a work of art is encouraged. Art instructors serve as camp counselors to train and educate children on the use of these materials. Apart from the workshops, there are also other activities like hiking, photography, wildlife observation and games that can inspire participants to come up with imaginative artworks. Other art camps can also cater to artistic performances such as theater acting, dancing and Broadway musicals.
Highlights: Most of these camps feature an art exhibition towards the end of the summer. Other types have a recital or performance as a culmination activity.
Equipment to Bring: Some other art camps require students to bring their own materials and equipment. For example, if your camper will be using ice for sculptures, you would need to invest on an ice cooler for this purpose.
Supervision: Inquire about the camp's counselor to participant ration to find out if your child will be supervised thoroughly during the time at the camp.
