If your child just can't seem to narrow down his sports favorites, a multisport camp may be the best option. At these camps, there are a variety of sports to choose from, not just one. They are designed to offer a wide range of interests to develop a well-rounded camper. Choose from half day camps, full day camps or overnight camps. Kids can partake in daily sports challenges and technical instruction, with activities focused on body control, timing, accuracy and coordination.
Highlights: Many camps offer 10 to 15 types of sports within multisport camps, such as touch rugby, flag football, baseball, hockey, handball, volleyball, soccer and tennis.
What to Ask the Camp Director: Does the program offer group discounts? Many camps offer discounts for groups over a certain amount, so this is worth asking about, especially if you have a Boy or Girl Scout troop, school group or recreational sports team with lots of kids that want to participate.
What to Pack: Be sure to dress your child in appropriate clothing and footwear, as well as cleats when soccer is being played. In the summer, it's crucial to apply sunscreen to your child before dropping him off, plus pack plenty of water and snacks.
